Want to learn more about how to live better with your diabetes, improve your outcomes and spend longer with your Doctor/Nurse and Healthcare Team?
Currently if you need a diabetes review in Brigstock Medical Practice you may have to wait a long time, or get an appointment time that doesn't work for you. Patient engagement and satisfaction is important to us and we want to improve your experience of care.
In response to this we will be delivering Group Consultations for your review appointments. This will mean that you will be able to access your healthcare team quicker and get to spend longer with your healthcare team.
Benefits of Group Consultations?
This is a new way for you to join people with similar health issues and consult with your GP, pharmacist or nurse for a longer period of time.

How do I join a Group Consultation and how will it work?
You would need to contact the surgery to book an appointment for your annual diabetes review via a Group Consultation.
Our Group Consultations are usually held on Wednesday at 5pm and Friday at 10am. This will be a face to face appointment.
Confidentiality
Group Consultations involve sharing and discussing some personal information about patients.
You are required by law to not share this information under the Data Protection Act. Before entering the group all participants are requested to agree not to share any information discussed within the group.
You will be asked for your consent to share limited information about your condition that relates to the group topic. This information will be shared with the group in the form of a results board.
Our Practice has been given training and support in confidentiality and information sharing.
What if am not comfortable with Group Consultations?
A few patients may feel worried about being in a group or do not want to disclose any personal information with anyone.
In this case please discuss this with your clinican.
Before you attend the Group Consultation
Prior to the Group Consultation you will be called in to have your annual blood results usually in the birth of your month.
